The Latest & Greatest in Creating Your Awesomeness!
Sometimes you need someone to hold up the mirror to see what you might need a little work on. It's often only when we have someone treat us to our own poor habits that we have the chance to really see what needs work. I've had mirrors held up to me many times over the past month and am so grateful I got the message. These are the messages I got:
the grumpy mirror: a few people have been grumpy towards me or around me, one was even nasty to me, with reasonable cause varying from non-existent to minimal, but it was really upsetting to me. It had me reflect about previous times when I'd been abrasive, and that even when my patience is feeling worn how I can respond differently.
the overplanned mirror: I've had a lot of people with lots on their to-do lists around lately, some are overwhelmed, some are not keeping their word, and some have blamed and made excuses for their inability to manage. I realized I needed to slow down too, and in case that hadn't sunk in well enough I got rather sick for the first time in quite a long time. This has also helped to remind me that I must remain accountable and be a good example: when I say no excuses or blaming, and advocate for personal responsibility and life balance I must live by those wholeheartedly.
the holding on mirror: I've had the holding on mirror held up too, people who I see either holding on to anger, fear, resentments, unhealthy relationships or jobs, and others who I see letting them go. I see how happy those who release this stuff are, and I see how I sometimes take personally the grumpy people or the too busy people. I realize they're grumpy and/or unable to manage their load, but I also don't have to let their grumpiness and overwhelm take me down, nor take it personally. That I can happily look in the let it go mirror.
Do any of these mirrors slow you down from achieving your fitness, health and wellness goals? Any other mirrors you feel you could or have taken a look at recently? Share in the comments below.

Get Better Mushroom & Eggdrop Soup
1 tsp of butter, ghee (what I used this time), or coconut oil
1 large clove of garlic minced
pinch of sea salt
5 mushrooms, medium sized, chopped (button, cremini, shiitake, oyster)
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp dried or 1.5 tsp fresh thyme (or any preferred herb)
2 cups of vegetable, mushroom (what I used this time), or chicken broth
2 large eggs beaten
Sea salt to taste
1. Heat oil in pan add garlic and salt and pinch of salt and sautee for 2 minutes on medium to medium low (don't brown the garlic).
2. Add mushroom and continue to sautee until the mushrooms are soft,
3. Stir in the turmeric and herbs and sautee one more minute.
4. Add the broth and turn up heat bringing to a light simmer.
5. Using a soup spoon gently "drop" (from very close to the simmering broth) egg in a spoonful at a time (yes this is a little bit tedious, but it only takes a couple of minutes and means you don't end up with it stuck to the bottom of the pot or doing this weird gross thing where it doesn't stay in drops)
6. Add a little bit more salt to taste and "electrolytify" yourself.
7. It doesn't just make you better by the way: it's OOOOOOMMMMM Nom Nom!
